Heat Pumps inside the building served. Ground Loops outside the building served.
The NY-GEO conference drew more than 300 people including representatives from other countries. The presentations were very informative and there was a good vendor display area. To my surprise, Achieve won the NY-Geo Geostar Top Job competition. The five finalist projects were all really good and I did not expect to win. It was humbling to be selected as one of the five finalists. We presented a project that converted a 19th Century mill building in Arlington to a 21st Century technology incubator. The project did not receive MassCEC funding because it pre-dated the commercial incentives by a small amount of time but was recently part of our first round of APS/AEC qualification submittals. The Client wants to convert the adjacent larger mill building now so MassCEC will get another chance.
NEGPA congratulates it's Vice President Larry Lessard of AchieveRenewable.com for presenting one of his projects, and then winning the very competitive New York Geo GeoStar Top Job Competition for 2018. Last year an affordable housing project won, beating Saint Patrick's Cathedral geothermal, so the stakes are high. Details will be published here, once NYGeo conference proceedings are made available. Well done Larry!
